Title: At Weir’s Shop
Fandom: SGA
Rating: G
Pairing: John/Rodney (McShep)
Word count: 496
Notes: Written for the McSheplets Prompt #43 Crossover. TRC fusion. I thought this was a funny idea but I guess it's more AU than crossover? TRC is a manga series following a fivesome who go to different worlds to fulfill their individual wishes. Syaoran (played here by John) is a young man whose childhood friend and love interest Sakura’s memories have been scattered to different worlds. Sakura (Rodney here) is a princess who will die if she doesn’t recover her memories. Teyla and Ronon are playing Fai and Kurogane, a sorcerer who never wants to return to his world and a warrior who wants to return to his world (respectively). Mokona (who didn’t come in) is a creature built by the witch Yuuko (Weir here) to transport people to different worlds. Yuuko owns a shop wherein customers come to have their wishes granted for an equal and corresponding price. It’s a cute story about interplanetary travel that does not involve a puddlejumper.

At Weir's Shop
“Are you aware of how much you must sacrifice to attain your wish?” The witch’s pale eyes narrowed on John’s face, the hard, smooth plane of her cheek tilted to the light.

“Are you prepared to pay that price?”

His hazel eyes dropped to Rodney’s lax features, the matted black lashes against his cheeks, the crooked set of his lips. A bead of rain ran off John’s chin and dropped to Rodney’s cheek. The fee for getting back what Rodney had lost… He didn’t need to think about it to decide. His fingers tightened on Rodney’s frame. “Yeah. I think so.” He muttered.

Weir’s lips tightened and she nodded her head. “To recover his memories you’ll have to travel to many worlds.” Her dark brow curved severely. “Your wishes require that you cross dimensions and even time. The fee I require is tremendous. It’s too much for you to pay alone.” John gritted his teeth, frustration welling in his chest. Weir looked into the fierce features of Ronon Dex and Teyla Emmagan’s determined face in turn. “But not if you all pay a part of the price.”

“Whatever you ask, I will oblige such as is possible.” Teyla offered. “Then I’ll ask for that tattoo.” Weir’s smooth voice bled over the beating of the rain. Teyla’s features hardened almost imperceptibly. “Perhaps some other trade can be arranged-“

“As I said before, the cost of granting your wish is enormous. It’s your most valuable possession. Only that will do.”

Teyla’s throat shifted as she swallowed. A predestination of gloom formed in John’s mind, his heartbeat hastening. “…Very well.” Teyla acquiesced finally. “And from you, Ronon Dex, I have to ask for your taskmaster's gun.”

“No way.” Ronon growled. “I’ll find my own way home.” Weir narrowed her eyes. “I don’t think I need to tell you that this is your only option of returning.” Ronon’s eyes were sharp on her thin body. At length, he thrust his gun toward her. “All right.” Weir nodded her head.

“And you,” She spoke, her pale gaze returning to John, “Are you prepared to pay the price?” The price for Rodney’s memories… John gripped Rodney’s slack arm, knitting his brows as he looked into his lax face. He didn’t have a choice. He’d die if John didn’t. “I said it already, didn’t I?” He replied.

Weir’s pale eyes were unreadable and grave. “Your payment is his memories of you.” Blood surged through John’s frame and deafened him to the rain. “What the hell-” Weir cut him off with the motion of her hand. “Even if he recovers all of his memories, he won’t remember you, your friendship or your past together. Are you willing to pay that price?” The pounding of his heart shook his limbs, the fingers holding Rodney in his lap on the wet grass. He tasted bitterness on his tongue. “This is getting really repetitive right about now.” He said.

“Very well.” Weir said, “I’ll grant your wish.”
