Nov. 1st, 2009 04:29 pmO man. I think I might have a cold. My head hurts... :\ How about a list, strangers?
Last night's Halloween movies:
The Descent -- Ask me, it was all right. At first, I thought that the antagonists were unnecessary, but then warmed to the idea. It was interesting that it was an all female cast. I think I liked Juno best, Sarah was a little blah, and after that, it would be the sisters.
Night of the Living Dead -- It's a good one. Classic. Everyone performs well, it's solidly written. I'm very fond of zombie movies (everyone who knows me knows that I'm crazy about zombiism as a metaphor for social/urban anxiety). Disappointingly, I couldn't find Shaun of the Dead in the packing. Ksigh.
The Orphan -- LOL. LOFL. Srsly? Really? The heroine was kinda weird, as far as horror movie heroines go. She was a little bracing, assertive, and rollicking (I liked those parts of her character), but no one would suspect their extremely polite, recently adopted daughter of homicidal wrong-doing that quickly. As if. The plot twist was hilarious, but the delivery was mind-numbingly idiotic, as was the obnoxiously bitch-irresponsible driving going on subsequently. Hazardous driving sequences in movies: I always feel like, "Bitch, kill yourself if you feel like it, but no one else on the road wants your fucking crazy ass four lanes wide and 98 mph, you drunk son of a bitch." I hate reckless drivers.
We passed on The Abyss because it was, like, three when we finished with those movies. We also have A Reason to Believe! Yes, with Joe Flanigan! Maybe it'll be funny -- but I doubt it~! :)
